The consultant will focus on enhancing and maintaining a custom client-server application, HiCAMS, which tracks work, materials, and payments for Division of Highways Construction projects. HiCAMS relies on multiple Java, C/C++, and ASP.NET/C# interfaces with internal and external systems. The initial assignment will be to resolve a Java-related upgrade compatibility issue in our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment. Support the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, and QA. Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure system reliability and performance. Explore opportunities to design new interfaces and web applications tied to HiCAMS. Required Skills (10+ Years) Advanced Java development experience, with emphasis on library and compatibility issues across RHEL versions. Strong SQL development skills (Sybase preferred, but any platform acceptable). Proven experience working in a remote software development environment. Strong analytical, conceptual, and technical skills. Excellent communication skills to bridge IT and business needs. Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation. Preferred Skills Development experience in C# and ASP.NET. Development experience in C/C++. Experience coding stored procedures and triggers (any database). Experience developing .NET applications and APIs in a Visual Studio environment. Data conversion experience. SharePoint integration and web-based solution design. Why Apply?
