This isn't a typical engineering job; it requires a unique blend of analytical skills, client-facing communication, and a passion for data purity, big data analysis, and machine learning. The ideal candidate should have a background in data engineering, a desire to mentor others, and the ability to solve complex data challenges for clients. The role involves using tools like Google BigQuery, Data Studio and Python Notebooks to help clients build insightful marketing strategies. The position offers career growth in two directions: a tech focus on solving complex problems with scalable solutions or a client/people focus on project leadership and team management.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage applications for analytics pipelines, including data visualization, cleaning, and access.Audit existing datasets for accuracy, reliability and consistencyWork with senior team members to identify data models and algorithms to apply to unique client problemsIncrease and optimize user experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes using predictive modeling and other advanced analysis techniquesCoordinate with internal and client data engineering teams to implement models and supervise outcomesDevelop various Big Data capabilities in the cloud for our clients, aligning them with business strategies and requirementsBuild data pipelines from various digital marketing platforms (like Google Marketing Platform, Facebook, and Instagram) to data warehouses.Create and implement data warehouses, including determining the right architecture, automating pipelines, and training clients on their value.Manage technical projects, overseeing scope, schedule, resources, and progress to ensure timely and on-budget delivery.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, ensuring quality work and adherence to best practices.Support digital analytics implementations with broad understanding of tag management, HTML and JavaScript on websites, as well as installing advanced JavaScript data analytics toolsCollaborate with Google Engineers to design scalable, resilient, and maintainable cloud-based solutionsWork closely with Data Scientists to execute strategic engineering proof of concepts and contribute to technology strategy and engineering roadmapsDevelop monitoring strategies for infrastructure, platforms and applications aligning with enterprise strategy and overall industry trendsTranslate solutions and complicated concepts to all audiences, from executive level members to marketing teamsLead and drive projects assigned to completion with attention to detail and high qualityEstablish long term relationships with customers in order to gain and cultivate trust (become their Trusted Advisor)Experience 3-5 years experience as a Senior Data Engineer  or related roleCollege degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related field preferred - OR - successful completion of code school program combined with experience in data engineeringAdvanced skills with SQL (for pulling data), Python (for writing pipelines) and JavaScript (for accessing data from websites)Advanced experience with Google BigQuery or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS or Azure tools as they relate to big dataAdvanced familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript / Modern JavaScript Frameworks (React)Proven ability to solve complex problems with on-time delivery, the highest quality, and creativity in the approachExperience with and desire to mentor and encourage growth in junior team membersAbility to listen and understand business needs and creatively develop solutionsAbility to work on a team and manage and prioritize individual workloadsStrong desire to become a proficient Data Engineer for a fast paced companyThis position pays a base salary of $140,000 to $170,000 per year.
