Job Description: DescriptionAre you passionate about crafting cutting-edge search solutions that connect people and services in meaningful ways? At Fiverr, we're revolutionizing how the world works together, and we're looking for a talented Backend Engineer to join our team. You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the search experience for 10s of millions of users worldwide, designing and implementing advanced algorithms that make our platform more intuitive and effective.The role is hybrid, in-office three days a week. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $170,000-$180,000. Our salary is to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, locations and other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for equity and benefits.This is a full-time hybrid position and requires candidates to work from Fiverr's office 3 times a week.             
            What am I going to do?Develop and optimize the core retrieval systems that form the backbone of our search architecture, focusing on enhancing the recall and precision of search results.Utilize technologies like Elasticsearch, Lucene, Vector DB, and machine learning models to build scalable search retrieval systems solutions that form the primary source for our search platform.Work closely with data scientists, product managers, and fellow engineers to integrate machine learning models and algorithms.Use search metrics such as nDCG, MRR, and user behavior analysis to pinpoint improvements and conduct rigorous A/B testing and online experiments to validate changes and assess their impact.Address complex business challenges related to retrieval by breaking them down into manageable components, conducting in-depth research, and pioneering innovative features for search retrieval.            
            RequirementsBSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent5+ years of software development experience 2+ years of experience with a focus on search/recommendation technologies and relevance engineeringProficiency in programming languages like Go, PythonStrong understanding of information retrieval, NLP, graph architectures and machine learning conceptsAvid learner with a deep passion for data, eager to explore new territories and solve complex problems
