📋 Description
• Owns the communication backbone for Netflix's Cloud, including the Edge Gateway and services responsible for handling all internet-facing traffic entering the cloud
• Works on Service Mesh and Service Discovery to enable service communications within the cloud
• Aims to uplift Netflix's resilience, observability, and security posture while continuing to iterate on the product experience for diverse stakeholders
• Building and operating data plane and control plane functionality to uplift the security, observability, and resilience of traffic traversing the cloud
• Improves developer experience and product experience in collaboration with team members and customers

🎯 Requirements
• Building and operating highly reliable distributed systems in a cloud environment
• Understanding of Service Mesh technologies such as Envoy-based service mesh, Istio, LinkerD
• Leveraging Envoy proxy for AI use cases or building secure proxies
• Experience with performance optimization for Service Mesh
• Deep understanding of gRPC
• Understanding of security concerns like DDoS, TLS, authentication and authorization, identity propagation, etc
• Pragmatic thinking and the ability to jump into an ambiguous area and break down complex problems with little guidance
