Job Description: The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Catena, you will contribute to developing innovative ways for humans and AI agents to interact with financial systems. You will help build and iterate on the core platform, including the Agent Commerce Kit (ACK), developing applications, APIs, and SDKs that enable secure and reliable global commerce for an agent-driven economy.

This role offers the opportunity to solve technical challenges at the intersection of AI and finance. You will work in a collaborative environment, shipping code that impacts the product and shapes the future of autonomous agent transactions.

What You'll Do

● Build Agent Interaction Layers: Develop applications, APIs, and SDKs that enable secure communication, collaboration, and transactions between AI agents and users.
● Develop Core Product Experiences: Build efficient systems for cryptographic identity management, payment workflows, and transaction processing within the ACK framework.
● Engineer Agent-Native Financial Systems: Design and implement end-to-end user experiences for AI agents, ensuring secure and reliable financial interactions.
● Create Identity and Reputation Tools: Engineer systems for agents to establish digital identities, discover peers, and manage reputations effectively.
● Contribute to Scalable Infrastructure: Build performant backend services and scalable APIs for secure coordination among decentralized AI agents.

Who You Are

● 6+ years of full stack engineering experience with strong backend architecture skills and experience delivering user-facing products.
● Proven track record of shipping complex production-quality products from concept to production.
● Committed to building performant, reliable, and secure systems with polished user experiences.
● Comfortable in ambiguous environments and capable of independently designing and implementing technical solutions.
● Curious about emerging technologies like AI agents, stablecoins, and programmable identity, with initiative to learn and apply them.
● Skilled in leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and streamline development processes.

Nice to Haves

● Hands-on experience building AI-driven solutions or integrating with AI toolkits.
● Experience in fintech, payments, or blockchain development.
● Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, React.
● Contributions to relevant open-source projects.
