About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior SWE to join the team building ChatRWD! Our product empowers clinicians and researchers to generate high-quality Real World Evidence in minutes. 

A successful teammate in this role will be someone who has contributed to building robust backend systems for complex products. While experience with healthcare data or AI systems are a definite bonus, solid software engineering fundamentals are key. You’ll be working with the team to improve the various technical underpinnings of ChatRWD; specifically, you’ll help us build and refine the services and pipelines that translate free-text medical questions into statistically validated clinical research.

Responsibilities
Implement robust Python systems

Contribute to decisions on data models, application architecture, and API structures

Implement new services, refactor existing pipelines, debug complex clinical-data issues, and augment product reliability through improvements to testing and observability

Bolster company engineering culture by participating in code reviews, product demos, and ideation sessions

Collaborate with our Product, Data Science, and Clinical teams to deliver a reliable (and delightful!) experience to our end users

Minimum Qualifications
3+ years experience as a software engineer, with a focus on backend systems

Expertise in Python

Experience with databases and cloud tooling (Postgres, AWS, Terraform, etc.)

Demonstrated delivery of complex technical projects, particularly those that require cross-functional collaboration

Familiarity with healthcare is great, but experience in any complex data system counts!

Bonus points for experience with domain-specific query languages, NLP, or mapping from unstructured to structured data

Bonus points for experience with LLMs, ML models, OpenSearch, or AI pipelines
