The team is also building systems for safely evaluating, testing, and deploying this new technology. As an Engineer on this team, you'll help develop and ship customer-facing features powered by AI that will drive Aura's next generation of digital safety products.About the Role:This small, specialized team reports directly to the Chief AI Officer, giving your work high visibility and a broad impact. Instead of incremental updates, we are developing a powerful AI agent that delivers a step change in family digital safety—from proactively remediating identity theft to ensuring safe online experiences for kids. You’ll join a group that brings the spirit of a startup to an established company, giving you both creative freedom and substantial resources. You’ll need to be comfortable breaking down and tackling large unsolved problems and be willing to work hard to build high quality products with few reference points elsewhere in industry. You’ll be working at the forefront of generative AI technologies and designing products that don’t yet exist in the commercial space.Day to Day:Build backend systems to support AI agents in the user experienceBuild evaluation and monitoring frameworks for AI products in productionBuild tools to measure performance impact of changes to prompts and toolsHelp establish best practices for AI development and deploymentWhat you bring to the table:Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related quantitative field or equivalent experienceDemonstrated effectiveness delivering new products in research or startup environments4+ years of software engineering and/or product engineering experienceStrong Python programming skillsExperience with AI/ML technologies, either traditional ML or generative AIComfort with ambiguity and self-directing workIt would be great if you also had: Experience with LLMs and generative AI technologies (personal projects included) Experience monitoring ML systems in productionWhat Makes You a Great Fit:You're passionate about generative AI technology and stay current with the latest developmentsYou thrive in environments with significant uncertainty and enjoy defining problems as much as solving themYou're comfortable taking initiative on new concepts without detailed directionYou're excited about joining a growing team and helping shape its culture and directionYou're willing to work flexible hours occasionally, including some extended hours and weekends as neededAura is committed to offering a generous package to support our employees in all aspects of their life in and out of work.
