As we expand our reach globally, Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices around the world—empowering clinicians and their teams with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practices, their people, and their patients.About the RoleDandy is hiring a talented software engineer to build digital products that support a vertically integrated pipeline for the design and manufacturing of dental prosthetics.In this role, you will build elegant, modern UIs and 3D visualizations for CAD-type digital design applications.  You will integrate and interface with generative AI and 3D model processing pipelines that power key aspects of the company.  You will work closely with the geometry, algorithms, and back-end engineering teams while adhering to contemporary design patterns and best-practices.The ideal candidate is a technology enthusiast with a strong web UI and graphics development skill set, experience in 3D graphics, game development, or strong experience in lower-level 3D image processing. Having some experience with backend systems and databases is a big plus, even if you don't need to be an expert.What You’ll DoWork cross-functionally to deliver practical solutions to real-world 3D problems across our engineering orgDesign and implement intuitive interfaces for complex 3D operations with an emphasis on modularity and reusability of codeBuild interactive web tools that allow doctors, lab technicians and patients to interact with 3D scans and medical imagesWork with cross-functional teams of product managers, designers, software engineers, computer vision engineers, dentists, and 3D dental designersAssess pros and cons of different processes in terms of speed, memory use, visual quality, and robustness; get down in the weeds of improving these when necessaryBuild observability into user interactions to surface issues and produce data for training machine learning modelsAdvocate for new technical architecture and innovationWhat We’re Looking For5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in a high growth environment A portfolio of relevant work3D model or visualization programming experience (Three.js, WebGL, Babylon, Unity, Unreal, etc)Experience developing user interfaces using React, including building reusable components, managing state, and working with React hooks and contextUnderstanding of 3D data structures, matrices, transforms, algorithms, and rendering techniquesDeep knowledge of JavaScrip/Typescript and its ecosystem, as well as experience developing large JS/TS applicationsContemporary understanding of the latest design technology trends and industry newsBasic proficiency with SQL and relational design patternsGenuine believer in constructive and respectful code reviews, retros, and collaborative problem-solving as the bedrock of a healthy teamCollaborative, pragmatic, and growth-oriented mindset, driving consensus with peers and providing clear status updatesAbility to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutionsSelf-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skillsAbility to thrive in a remote-first organizationOur TechnologyReactTypescriptNodeJSThree.js / WebGLWASM / EmscriptenGCPBonus Points ForDeep understanding of React, CSS, HTML, and related concepts at-scaleDeep understanding of a Frontend state management libraryExperience building 3D CAD or 3D gamesExperience with non-relational and event based architecturesFamiliarity working with Kubernetes and infrastructure as codeExperience with working with CI/CD pipelinesExperience with cloud providers, and GCP in particularExperience building TypeScript libraries with great developer UX and experience evolving versioned libraries over time.The successful candidate will have full English proficiency and be willing to work at least until 1pm US Eastern Standard Time (UTC/GMT -4).For full-time positions, Dandy offers a wide range of best-in-class, comprehensive, and inclusive benefits tailored to each country where we operate.
