Your mission: Join our close-knit, early-stage distributed team, where we tackle exciting technical challenges and create transformative crypto products that give people peace of mind. As one of the engineers, you'll play a key role in scaling our backend systems and take direct ownership of high-impact product and engineering goals.
What you will do: Build new features, products, integrations, and back-end services
Design scalable systems to support millions of users
Own and deliver top-level product and engineering objectives
Collaborate with team members across the company
Sample projects you might work on: Scale our data ingestion platform to handle millions of blockchain and exchange transactions efficiently
Leverage AI technologies to automate our integration workflows
Build and maintain high-quality blockchain and exchange integrations, ensuring performance, correctness, and long-term maintainability.Go deep into DeFi protocols to support complex transaction classification.

The starting salary for this position is between $175,000 - $210,000 USD. Candidate's location does not impact the posted salary range. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of job-related factors including relevant skills, education, and experience. This position also includes equity in CoinTracker and benefits like medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and PTO.

Communication: Able to clearly talk about the details and also zoom out to the bigger picture
5+ years of professional (non-internship) experience as a backend engineer, preferably in the data engineering or crypto/finance domain. Experience in crypto is strongly preferred.
Have strong CS fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and distributed systems. Deep knowledge of backend technologies, including databases, orchestrators, messaging systems, data pipelines, and more.
Write high-quality code, value software testing, and uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.
Experience designing, scaling, and maintaining production systems, ideally within high-growth or early-stage environments. or drawn to high growth stage startups.
Strong fundamentals with a cloud platform like GCP or AWS
Able to work effectively in a remote setting and able to overlap with our core hours of 9 AM to 12 PM PT / 12 - 3pm EST
