If you're excited about working on big, meaningful problems with a world-class team, you're in the right place.About UsWe’re building Soul — an AI-powered Web3 app for fortune-telling, identity, and social discovery — and other upcoming consumer-facing products in the blockchain space.About the RoleYou’ll be our first in-house engineer and the technical backbone of our Web3 apps (starting with Soul). You’ll own end-to-end development, from blockchain integrations to backend and frontend, while setting the foundation for our engineering team.ResponsibilitiesLead technical architecture and development of Soul + upcoming apps.Build blockchain integrations: wallet connection, calling smart contracts, data flows.Develop across stack: frontend (React/Next.js), backend (Node.js), infra (Kubernetes/GCP).Establish engineering best practicesRecruit and mentor future hires.Requirements5+ years of fullstack development.Strong blockchain/Web3 experience (Solidity, smart contracts, EVM chains).Familiarity with smart contracts is required but you do not write smart contracts as part of this roleProven track record in consumer apps or startups.Startup mindset: hands-on, independent, fast-moving.Growth & CultureShape the engineering vision as our first founding engineer.Work closely with the founder, with exposure to product, design, and strategy.Remote-first culture with async-friendly communication.Opportunity to grow into Head of Engineering as we scale.We’d love to offer token share benefits, so you grow with the company’s success.Compensation: Base Salary: $120,000 – $180,000This range reflects base salaries for roles in the San Francisco market. For candidates in other locations, compensation is adjusted to remain competitive within their local market.In addition to the base salary, all full-time team members receive an additional 10% to 25% in liquid benefits with upside based on role, experience, and impact.
