Job Description: Location: Denver area onlyCompensation: $20-30/hourJob OverviewThe GridX product team is looking for a Data Science intern to work within our Data Science team. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and analysts on a wide range of problems, bringing scientific thought and statistical methods to leverage the vast amount of data. Ultimately enabling the product team to build, develop and improve products that will revolutionize the energy industry. We are most interested in candidates who are able to commit to at least 20+ hours per week during normal MST business hours. The length of the internship can vary depending on your weekly hour availability, but we have projects slated for up to 650 hours of work.Roles & ResponsibilitiesResearch, analyze, and present findings using Python-based tools to recommend data-driven solutions that address complex business challenges in the energy sectorAnalyze large-scale time series datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decisions around customer usage and rate optimizationStructure analytical results into clear, visual narratives that drive actionable business decisionsPerform comprehensive data quality assurance including cleaning, validation, and usability testing to ensure reliable analytical outputsSupport the development of thought leadership content based on data-driven insights and industry analysisWork across time zones in a dynamic start-up settingQualificationsSeeking degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related quantitative fieldExperience in Data Visualisation, Statistical Learning and other Data Science methods, with a particular focus on time series dataExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Python for data analysis and visualizationPreferred QualificationsExperience in the Utility or Electricity industryExperience with version control systemsExperience with big data processing and distributed computingOur ValuesOur values are closely-held beliefs designed to drive the right actions and the right decisions that are authentic to GridX.
