Job Url: https://fa-ewmy-saasfaprod1.fa.ocs.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/CX_1/job/2327 Job Description: Purpose of the team   The Analytical Data Operations (ADO) division of Verisk’s ISO business is the information refinery for our insurance-industry-experience data stores, ensuring that the country’s largest database of P&C policy and claims information can effectively support the analytical engines underlying the pricing of the US P&C insurance market.    We are a hybrid team of data analysts, data engineers, BI developers, and actuarial-engineers that are responsible for the design and implementation of our core data-systems including data ingestion, data integration, data transformation, data analysis, and BI development.    We are committed to improving the data & analytics platform that supports a host of products the US P&C industry relies on.        About the Role   We are seeking a skilled and proactive Data Engineer to join our growing team in Krakow. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our business intelligence and analytics. You will work within a fast-paced, Agile environment, transforming raw data into a reliable and accessible format, and ensuring our data architecture is robust, scalable, and cost-efficient. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources   Create and maintain relational data models and data warehouse schemas   Optimize complex SQL queries and data structures to ensure high performance and efficiency   Work with cloud data platforms, specifically Snowflake, to develop stored procedures, tasks, and dynamic tables   Apply the principles of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to build a structured and reliable data ecosystem   Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues, including creating test cases, defining DQ checks, and generating reports on outliers, nulls, duplicates, and schema drift   Adhere to and enforce data governance best practices, including naming conventions and join principles   Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver data solutions that meet business needs. QUALIFICATIONS 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer (with at least 1 year of experience in Snowflake)   Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and best practices   Demonstrated proficiency in Python, including experience writing and manipulating data frames   Strong expertise in SQL and an ability to solve technical problems quickly   Solid understanding of cloud data architecture and best practices for cloud databases   Experience writing stored procedures, tasks, and dynamic tables   Experience with advanced SQL such as CTEs, cursors and Window Functions|   Familiarity with query cost management and optimization within the Snowflake ecosystem   Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills   A strong team-oriented mindset with experience working collaboratively   Good English communication skills (written and verbal)   Nice-to-Have:   Background in the insurance industry (a strong asset)   Current SnowPro Core Certification   Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt (dbt Core or dbt Cloud)   Experience using Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis and prototyping   #LI-PM1 #LI-Hybrid ABOUT US For over 50 years, Verisk has been the leading data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry by delivering value to our clients through expertise and scale.
