Overview

We’re seeking a hands-on Tech Lead to architect, build, and lead the delivery of a Rocket Resume, a consumer-facing product. This role combines deep full-stack engineering with technical leadership, ownership of system design, product development, and day-to-day execution.


Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and architecture of a scalable consumer product
Actively contribute code across the stack (frontend and backend)
Own key technical decisions, trade-offs, and long-term maintainability
Lead and mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and pairing
Collaborate closely with product, design, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Drive project execution from concept through launch and iteration
Ensure high standards for code quality, performance, security, and reliability
Identify and address technical debt proactively


Core Technical Skills

Expert JavaScript and TypeScript
Strong frontend experience (e.g., React, Next.js, or similar frameworks)
Strong backend experience (e.g., Node.js, APIs, services, data access layers)
Experience designing and consuming REST and/or TRPC APIs
Solid understanding of modern web architecture, state management, and build tooling
Database experience (SQL and/or NoSQL)
Experience with CI/CD, testing strategies, and production monitoring


Leadership & Architecture Skills

Proven ability to design systems and product functionality end-to-end
Experience leading technical projects and setting engineering direction
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners
Ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability in a consumer environment
Comfortable making decisions and being accountable for outcomes


Qualifications

6+ years of professional software engineering experience
Prior experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or Senior Engineer with ownership
Experience building and scaling consumer-facing products
Strong product mindset and user-centric thinking
