With our easy-to-use platform and industry-leading experience, we pride ourselves on our ability to bring businesses to the next level. Not familiar with trade promotion spend? That’s OK. Most people aren’t. It’s an $8 trillion dollar problem that is ripe for disruption by an innovative SaaS startup. In order to grow, consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands spend 20% of their topline revenue to get into retailers and promote their products within those retailers. The problem is that today 70% of those promotions are not ROI positive. This is because ROI is hard to track. The industry operates on emails, pdfs, and xls spreadsheets. At Vividly, we’re solving this massive problem with exciting tactics including AI, Machine Learning, and Fintech and adding value to everyone in the chain. Some of our customers include brands you may use and love - Liquid Death, Amy’s, and Laird Superfoods. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help us reach our goals! You’re passionate about building highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems, and you excel at designing architectures that will serve both today’s customers and tomorrow’s growth. You love diving deep into distributed systems, large-scale data flows, and performance bottlenecks, and you’re equally comfortable mentoring engineers and leading architectural reviews. You see around corners and anticipate scaling needs, technical debt, and trade-offs before they become problems. Lead cross-functional technical initiatives, collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to define solutions that balance long-term scalability with near-term business impact. Mentor and guide engineers across multiple teams, raising the technical bar through coaching, code reviews, and architectural leadership. Drive system design and technical decision-making, setting direction for infrastructure improvements, observability, and fault tolerance. Identify and solve bottlenecks in performance, data pipelines, and system reliability. Influence engineering practices across the org: establishing best practices in API design, testing, deployment, and monitoring. Accelerate developer feedback loops by improving build, test, and release workflows; define and uphold clear service levels for turnaround time. Evaluate and introduce new technologies where appropriate, staying ahead of industry trends in systems, data, and infrastructure. What We Look For 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant exposure to backend systems and infrastructure at scale. Deep expertise in system architecture, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing. Proficiency in Python/Django, with the ability to design performant, maintainable APIs and services. Experience with Rust preferable Strong experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), data modeling, and query optimization. Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). Proven ability to drive cross-team initiatives, leading technical design across multiple pods or departments. Exceptional communication and mentorship skills, with experience guiding engineers at varying levels. Demonstrated impact on business-critical systems, not just feature development. A mindset for long-term scalability and technical excellence, balanced with pragmatic execution.
