Location: Remote (work from anywhere in the US)
Compensation: Up to $200,000 + equity


Our client is a venture-backed cybersecurity startup hiring a Staff Software Engineer to help architect and scale their core platform. This is a fully remote role with significant technical ownership and the opportunity to shape a mission-critical product in a fast-growing environment. You will partner closely with product, security, and engineering leadership to define system architecture, drive execution, and deliver high-impact features. This role is ideal for a senior technical leader who influences direction, raises engineering standards, and stays deeply engaged in system design and implementation.


What You’ll Do

Lead technical direction and architectural decisions across the core platform
Design and scale reliable, production-grade backend systems
Stay close to the code through hands-on development and design reviews
Partner cross-functionally to ship scalable, high-impact features
Elevate engineering standards around quality, performance, and maintainability
Contribute to hiring and help shape a strong, ownership-driven culture


Who You Are

Staff-level engineer with a strong backend or full-stack foundation
Deep experience building and scaling distributed systems
Comfortable with technologies such as Python, Go, or Node.js and React or TypeScript
Experienced in cloud-native environments and CI/CD pipelines
Strong communicator who thrives in fast-paced, fully remote startup environments
Ownership-driven and motivated by solving complex technical problems
