Our technology and partnership empowers entities to make data-driven financial decisions. We uncover new sources of income and savings for entities looking to innovate and identify new resources for our clients by identifying all cash as a revenue-generating asset. On average, our work leads to 30% more earnings and 73% more cash being invested confidently. Our core services include: (1) cashVest®, a platform for liquidity monitoring and forecasting, (2) rfpPrep®, a digital tool to streamline banking and investment procurement, and (3) muniBank, a banking fee benchmarking solution. The Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Engineer to serve as a critical technical pillar for one of the nation’s fastest-growing public sector fintech firms. This is a foundational leadership role that offers a unique opportunity to shape our future. Responsibilities will include: to form the core of our technical leadership, collaboratively shaping our architecture, engineering culture, and long-term technical roadmap; lead the evolution of the Company’s front-end architecture and user experience (UI/UX strategy), bridging the gap between complex financial data and intuitive user interfaces; serve as a hands-on architect, contributing actively to front-end development and back-end systems as needed; provide guidance and technical expertise to mentor other members of the three+one team Responsibilities As a Staff Engineer, you will: Full Stack Development: With a focus on the front-end you will also be hands-on across the entire stack. You will craft high-performance front-end code while also building and maintaining the Python backend services and APIs that power them. Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical authority and mentor for all levels of engineers. You will drive technical decision-making, conduct code reviews, and build consensus on framework selection and API design. Complex Visualization: Tackle the challenge of presenting complex financial calculations in clear, interactive ways. You will own the strategy for data visualization and dashboard performance. Quality & Automation: Define strategies for end-to-end testing and front-end unit testing to ensure platform reliability and developer velocity. Best Practices: Define and enforce engineering best practices, including accessibility standards (WCAG), secure coding practices, and responsive design patterns for the entire organization Qualifications and Experience 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a clear progression to a senior, principal, or staff-level role. Proven experience architecting large-scale Single Page Applications (SPAs). Front-End Mastery (required): Deep expertise in the React ecosystem (Hooks, Context, State Management) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience building component libraries and design systems. Backend Competence (strongly preferred): proficiency in Python for building scalable APIs and backend services (experience with Flask, Django, or FastAPI is preferred). Cloud Native (preferred): Experience deploying and hosting applications on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or similar. Experience in FinTech, banking, or financial data processing. Experience with Data Visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, Recharts). Key Skills and Competencies: Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, etc.). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly to senior stakeholders and policymakers. Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management abilities. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Receptive to feedback and focused on continuous improvement. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment. Exercises discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive financial information. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solutions-oriented mindset.
