For this role specifically, we are seeking individuals to help support high-impact, civic tech within the federal government.We are seeking a Software / Machine Learning Engineer to support high-impact federal initiatives focused on building modern, user-centric, and data-driven systems. You’ll work on cross-functional teams to develop full-stack applications, evaluate emerging technologies, and build proof-of-concepts in machine learning, AI, and cloud environments. This role blends hands-on engineering with opportunities for technical leadership.Client Requirements: applicants MUST BE US Citizens and be able to obtain Public Trust clearanceResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement scalable software solutions and machine learning prototypesAnalyze user needs to customize or optimize softwareEvaluate new or emerging technologies and communicate their benefits and risksLead or support the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and practices across projectsCollaborate with cross-functional teamsSupport CI/CD workflows, containerized deployments, and secure cloud architecturesMay mentor and supervise software developers.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of professional experience in software development and machine learning, or 9+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degreeProficiency in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Ruby on RailsExperience with front-end frameworks (e.g., ReactJS) and back-end technologiesFamiliarity with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), web servers (e.g., Apache, Jenkins), and RESTful APIsHands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data libraries (e.g., pandas)Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)Strong communication skills and ability to quickly adapt to new technologiesNice to Have SkillsExperience with Amazon Bedrock and/or Amazon SageMakerExperience with R / RShinyExperience with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, and KubernetesCloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google CloudPeople or technical team management experienceExperience supporting software systems in the public sector or federal governmentInterest in civic tech, digital services, and user-centered designSalary Information:We are committed to offering a competitive salary for this position, with an estimated range of $120K to $145K annually.
