About the Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer (Django + React Native) to join our growing Engineering team. In this role, you’ll build and maintain both backend services and web/mobile application features that power Wingz’s core platform.


You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Operations, and fellow engineers to deliver scalable, reliable software that supports real-time operations and mission-critical healthcare transportation workflows as Wingz scales nationally.


This role is 100% remote within the United States.


What You’ll Do

Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs using Django and Django REST Framework.
Mobile Development: Develop and enhance mobile application features using React Native for iOS and Android.
Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices.
Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness across backend and mobile layers.
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Operations to ship features end-to-end.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and technical direction.
Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas; write efficient queries and manage migrations.
Write unit tests, debug issues, and maintain system reliability.
Maintain clear technical documentation for the codebase and systems you own.


What You’ll Need

At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
Hands-on experience building production mobile apps with React Native.
Proficiency in Python and modern JavaScript.
Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a fully remote environment.


Bonus Points

Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure.
Familiarity with Docker or containerized deployments.
Experience working on logistics, marketplace, or healthcare-related platforms.
Prior startup or early-stage company experience.
