Software Engineer III (Media Full Stack / Backend)

Remote (PST Time Zone) | 9-Month Contract ( Possible extension ) 

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer III to join a fast-paced team focused on media full stack and backend development. This role involves owning and improving media systems, debugging complex issues, and working closely with senior engineers to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain media full stack and backend systems
Debug and troubleshoot complex issues related to media ingestion and encoding
Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
Implement monitoring and alerting for operational excellence
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
Proactively identify root causes and suggest system improvements
Must-Have Skills

5+ years of software engineering experience
Strong experience in PHP, React, and C++
Hands-on experience with media ingestion and encoding
Familiarity with media formats such as AV1 and HEVC
Solid backend engineering fundamentals
Nice-to-Have

Background in media or streaming-related companies
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
