About The Role We are seeking experienced and passionate Software Engineers to join our team and help bring Pulumi’s cloud programming model to the world. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing Pulumi’s open-source platform, working across multiple programming languages and cloud APIs. Your contributions will directly impact how developers interact with cloud infrastructure, enabling seamless integration with platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes. You will lead projects from conception to deployment, collaborating closely with fellow engineers, community members, and customers to design, prototype, and implement new features. Qualifications Proven experience in software development, with expertise in multiple programming languages such as Go, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, Rust, Kotlin, Scala, Haskell, Ruby, F#, or Lisp. Strong understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Experience with infrastructure as code, deployment automation, and related tools. Familiarity with system design, data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles. Knowledge of compilers, graph algorithms, and distributed systems primitives. Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a systematic approach to troubleshooting. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly. Experience leading projects from ideation through implementation and deployment. Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, demonstrating self-motivation and collaboration skills. Prior experience contributing to open-source projects is a plus. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain open-source Pulumi SDKs across multiple programming languages. Ensure high code quality through comprehensive testing, documentation, and performance optimization. Lead projects from initial concept to final release, collaborating with cross-functional teams and community members. Define roadmaps and prioritize features based on user feedback, community input, and strategic goals. Engage with the Pulumi community by providing support, gathering feedback, and creating sample content to foster engagement and excitement. Contribute to the overall architecture and design of Pulumi's core infrastructure deployment engine and distributed systems primitives. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and incorporate best practices into product development. Support and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
