Responsibilities
Lead the development of custom WordPress websites tailored to the unique needs and goals of franchisees, franchisors, and multi-location partners, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with brand standards
Architect and implement advanced front-end and back-end solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress best practices to deliver high-quality user experiences and robust functionality
Ensure websites are fully responsive and optimized for performance, accessibility, and usability across all modern devices and browsers
Apply SEO best practices at both the technical and content-structure level to support strong organic search performance for clients/partners
Oversee and execute complex website updates, enhancements, and refactors while minimizing risk and downtime
Implement, maintain, and regularly review security measures within WordPress environments, proactively addressing vulnerabilities and platform risks
Perform advanced testing, debugging, and performance optimization, diagnosing root causes and resolving issues efficiently
Collaborate closely with design, SEO, and other capability teams to ensure technical execution supports broader marketing and brand strategies
Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to internal teams and partners on WordPress best practices, workflows, and troubleshooting
Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and reusable code, setting quality standards for the broader development team
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and WordPress ecosystem changes, recommending and implementing improvements where appropriate
Design, optimize, and maintain SQL databases related to WordPress CMS and supporting applications
Integrate WordPress and custom software solutions with third-party platforms and APIs, ensuring reliability and scalability
Create and maintain clear technical documentation for development standards, implementations, and internal processes
Mentor and support Level 1 and Level 2 developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing

Required
Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Strong, hands-on experience in web development with advanced proficiency in WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and responsive design
Demonstrated experience building and supporting websites for multi-location and franchise-based businesses at scale
Advanced understanding of technical SEO, site performance optimization, and WordPress SEO tools and plugins
Proven experience implementing and maintaining secure WordPress environments and following best practices for data protection
Working proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, with experience contributing to custom software solutions
Solid understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes and modern development workflows
Strong experience with version control systems, particularly Git, including collaborative workflows
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to independently assess, prioritize, and resolve complex technical challenges
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams
Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
