Lettuce Box builds veroFresh™, a cold-chain monitoring platform used by logistics operators to ensure food quality and safety in transit. We’re a profitable, growing company expanding our engineering capacity to support increasing customer demand and product evolution.



We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a small, experienced team and take ownership across backend, frontend, and infrastructure. This is a hands-on role in a live production system, with real responsibility from day one.



You’ll work on:

Enhancing and extending our REST APIs (PHP/Yii)
Contributing to our Vue-based frontend
Improving reliability, scalability, and performance
Supporting AWS-based infrastructure and CI/CD workflows
Sharing responsibility for operational health
Helping shape technical direction, manage tradeoffs, and improve system design as we scale


You’ll be joining a small team where autonomy is high, decisions matter, and engineering quality directly impacts customers. The business is stable and long-term focused.



We’re looking for someone who:

Has strong professional experience with PHP
Has built and maintained production REST APIs
Is comfortable working in and improving an existing system
Thinks about scalability, failure modes, and long-term maintainability
Communicates clearly and works well as a peer


Nice to have:

Experience with Yii and/or Vue
Experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong SQL skills and familiarity with MySQL performance tuning
Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
Comfort writing tests and participating in code review
Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day workflow
