This platform is built with a modern stack including Svelte.js for the frontend, Python (AWS Lambda) for backend services, and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code deployments. As a key contributor on a cross-functional team, you’ll design and implement high-quality, reliable software that delivers meaningful value to healthcare professionals while maintaining scalability, security, and performance in a production environment. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain production-grade web applications using Svelte.js and Python (AWS Lambda). Architect and optimize cloud-native solutions using AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, S3, and RDS. Define and implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring secure, reproducible, and scalable deployments. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver new features and enhance existing functionality. Establish best practices for API design, error handling, observability, and monitoring. Participate in system design reviews, code reviews, and production support rotations. Implement performance monitoring and alerting for production services using tools such as CloudWatch, Sentry or similar. Lead by example in fostering clean code, test coverage, documentation, and CI/CD best practices. Qualifications Required: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production web application development. Deep understanding of AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS/SQS, API Gateway, RDS). Proficiency with Python (for backend/API development) and JavaScript/TypeScript (for Svelte or similar frameworks). Strong experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure with Terraform. Proven ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and support applications in production environments. Familiarity with software lifecycle automation (CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows). Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. Preferred: Experience working on healthcare, life sciences, or regulated data applications (HIPAA familiarity a plus). Background with API integrations, data pipelines, and analytics solutions. Exposure to containerized workloads (Docker, ECS, or Fargate) and serverless orchestration patterns. Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving architectural discussions.
