Mission of the Role: The mission of the Senior Software Engineer, Martech is to drive the development and optimization of our marketing technology stack. Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Data, the Senior Software Engineer, MarTech will design, implement, and scale solutions across analytics, adtech, and customer data platforms to ensure accurate tracking, compliance, and actionable insights. This role bridges engineering, marketing, and data disciplines to enable privacy-compliant, data-driven growth. Requirements Essential Functions and Impact Areas: Design, implement, and maintain integrations for analytics and tracking tools such as Amplitude, GA4, GTM, and ad pixels Ensure compliance with cookie consent and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CPRA, GDPR, CCPA) using cookie compliance management tools such as OneTrust, Ethyca, or Osano Develop and maintain robust tagging, attribution, and event-tracking frameworks across digital platforms Collaborate with Data Engineering and Marketing teams to align tracking schemas, data pipelines, and taxonomy standards Partner with marketing operations to optimize advertising efficiency, attribution accuracy, and ROI measurement Build and optimize systems that unify first-party and third-party data across channels while maintaining strict privacy and compliance controls Contribute to architectural decisions, advocating for scalable, maintainable, and privacy-first solutions Lead troubleshooting and resolution of analytics or tag management issues across environments Champion automation and quality assurance in MarTech deployments to minimize errors and reduce manual work Drive innovation through AI-based personalization, campaign optimization, and data enrichment initiatives Required Qualifications: 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on marketing technology, analytics, e-commerce or adtech Expert knowledge of Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Amplitude, and pixel-based conversion tracking Strong understanding of cookie lifecycle management, IAB TCF, CMP integrations, and privacy compliance frameworks Hands-on experience implementing data layers, event schemas, and server-side tagging solutions Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, API integration, and front-end tracking instrumentation Familiarity with BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar data warehouses, and experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau or Hex for analytics validation and storytelling Experience working with marketing automation and adtech platforms such as Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn Ads, or DV360, with strong understanding of platform-specific pixel and event tracking Experience implementing tracking and event tagging across DTC or e-commerce platforms, including checkout, cart, and conversion funnel instrumentation Proven ability to translate business objectives into technical tracking and data collection strategies Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering, marketing, and compliance teams Passion for AI-driven data engineering and the evolution of privacy-first MarTech ecosystems Prior experience in an e-commerce environment, ideally within a company that manages both owned and marketplace channels Location: This is a remote position, but preference will be given to candidates who are located near or willing to travel to our Los Angeles or San Diego hubs Benefits Benefits & Perks: 💰 Competitive compensation and equity package (RSUs) 🥼 Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, FSA and HSA, supplemental coverages (critical illness, accident, hospitalization), and 401(k) 🧘🏻‍♀️ Access to wellbeing perks, including OneMedical, Spring Health, SoFi, and Employee Assistance Program 🌴 Flexible paid time off and holiday policy 🐣 Paid parental leave (birthing parents and non-birthing parents) 💜 Employee donation matching program 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽 Culture Committee, Curology Connect, and employee resource group programs for virtual and in-person connectivity ✨ Complimentary VIP Subscription to Curology or Agency, plus online retail discount Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000 per year, plus a competitive equity package and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including location, skills, experience, and job-related expertise.
