We have several active customers live in production, with usage expanding quarter over quarter. Our platform operates production systems processing live transaction traffic across fraud, AML, and KYC, and combines real-time decisioning with LLM-powered workflows and AI agents to automate investigations, explanations, and operational actions. This is a high-growth phase for the company, with strong customer pull, increasing production volume, and significant platform expansion underway.What Breaks as We Scale (Why This Role Matters) As customer usage grows, the hardest problems shift from feature delivery to system-level concerns: maintaining low-latency decisioning under higher event throughput, preserving correctness and explainability in scoring pipelines, and introducing LLM-powered agents with strict guardrails suitable for regulated environments. Data models, APIs, and workflows built for early customers must evolve carefully without breaking live production systems already in use. This role exists to anticipate and solve these scaling challenges before they become operational or customer-impacting issues.Role We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale the backend systems that power Idenza’s production platform during this rapid growth phase. This is a hands-on role with ownership across backend services, APIs, core decisioning logic, and AI-driven workflows. Python is a primary language, and you’ll work on systems that must meet real-world requirements around latency, reliability, explainability, and regulatory correctness as the platform scales.Responsibilities Design and scale backend services supporting fast-growing, live customer traffic Build and maintain production APIs and internal services Implement complex domain logic using clean, maintainable code Build and integrate LLM-powered features and AI agents for case analysis, explanations, and workflow automation Own services end-to-end, from design through production operations Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and applied AI teams Improve performance, reliability, observability, and security across the platform Requirements 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience Experience building and operating production systems Strong proficiency in Python Experience with relational databases and data modeling Solid understanding of scalability, performance, and distributed systems Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-moving environment Nice to Have Experience building or integrating LLM-based systems or AI agents Familiarity with prompt design, orchestration frameworks, or RAG-style workflows Experience in fintech, payments, fraud, AML, or compliance Familiarity with Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks Experience with background processing or event-driven systems Prior startup experience with production ownership Compensation & Equity Competitive, location-based compensation India-based salary range: ₹25 – ₹35 LPA, depending on experience and role scope Meaningful equity ownership in a fast-scaling company with active customers and production deployments Why This Role Join a fast-scaling, high-momentum company at an inflection point Build production-grade AI agents and LLM-powered systems Work on live systems with real customers and real impact High ownership in a technically challenging domain Small, senior team with strong engineering standards Opportunity to grow into broader technical leadership as the company scales
