This role is ideal for a highly independent engineer with deep Python expertise who enjoys building robust automated testing solutions for complex APIs, services, and data workflows. This is a hands-on, backend-focused position with minimal emphasis on UI automation. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning work end to end and translating requirements directly into production-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain Python-based automation frameworks with a strong focus on API and backend testing Develop automated test strategies for data-intensive systems and large-scale data workflows Validate APIs, services, and backend business logic (not UI-heavy automation) Work with large datasets to create meaningful test coverage and validation strategies Collaborate with engineering, product, and data stakeholders to improve system quality Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively improve reliability and performance Operate independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal hand-holding Required Qualifications 5–10 years of experience in software development, SDET, or test automation roles Strong Python programming skills (must be a capable software developer, not QA-only) Solid experience testing APIs and backend services Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets Experience building automation frameworks from scratch or significantly enhancing existing ones Proven ability to interpret requirements and deliver solutions end to end Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience with Playwright (API-focuseds API-first or backend usage preferred) Exposure to big data systems, analytics platforms, or data pipelines Experience with complex business logic, financial systems, or forecasting models Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
