Our flagship product, Köniva Stock, is a voice-first inventory tool for bars, restaurants, and hospitality groups: staff speak counts aloud while Köniva transcribes, organizes, and syncs in real time — no clipboards, no screens, no re-keying. Our second product, Köniva Taste, is a consumer subscription app for beverage enthusiasts tracking tasting notes. Both apps are live on the App Store. We're a small, tight-knit founding team. Every person here has a direct impact on the product — and that's intentional. Senior React Native Engineer (Remote) Term & Opportunity Initial engagement: 3 months, with strong potential to extend based on product traction and fundraising. We're early-stage and building to prove product-market fit quickly. For exceptional candidates, there is a clear path to transition into a full-time founding engineer role (equity + salary) based on product progress and fundraising. The Role You'll be the first dedicated mobile engineer at Köniva. Right now mobile is owned by the CTO; you'll take that surface area, own it end-to-end, and set the standard for how we build and ship on iOS (and eventually Android). This is a high-autonomy, high-ownership role at a company with real customers and a clear commercial roadmap. What You'll Work On Both Köniva apps: the B2B voice inventory tool and the consumer tasting notes subscription app Core mobile UX — audio recording, live transcription preview, offline-first sync, location management Translating Figma designs into polished, production-ready UI — working closely with our UX designer to find the right balance between visual fidelity and implementation pragmatics App Store release process, CI/CD, and native module integration Collaborating directly with the CTO on architecture and product decisions Must-Have 5+ years of production mobile development, with 3+ years in React Native — Expo and EAS specifically Strong grasp of iOS and Android ecosystem: App Store submission, guidelines, TestFlight, signing, native modules when needed AI-native development workflow — Claude or equivalent should be writing most of your code; your job is to direct, review, and validate it Track record of owning a mobile codebase — not just contributing to one CI/CD for mobile: automated builds, test pipelines, release automation Nice-to-Have Experience with real-time data / audio recording in a mobile context Familiarity with Firebase / GCP backend Consumer subscription apps (IAP, RevenueCat or similar) B2B / enterprise mobile experience Exposure to audio APIs, speech recognition, or NLP-adjacent features Why Köniva The two founders you'll work directly with built products at Uber, Meta, Google, and Microsoft — not as passengers, but as engineers and PMs who shipped at scale. The quality bar, the code review culture, the engineering standards they learned there — that's what we're bringing to Köniva. You'll get the mentorship and rigor of a Tier 1 eng org, at a company where your work actually moves the needle. You won't be handed a ticket queue. We're looking for someone who has a clear opinion on how a mobile codebase should be structured, and the experience to back it up. The mobile layer is yours to define. Both apps are live on the App Store. You're not joining pre-product — but you're early enough that the decisions you make in the first 90 days will shape the architecture for years. Early stage means uncertainty. It also means that if this works, you're a founding engineer at a company in a market that's ready for disruption — not a mid-level IC at a 200-person org waiting for your turn.
