Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Backend-Leaning)



Remote (US or Canada)



A fast-growing, well-funded fintech startup is building software that gives small and mid-sized businesses access to financial data, automation, and intelligence typically reserved for large enterprises.


They are expanding their engineering team and are specifically looking for high-caliber engineers with strong computer science fundamentals and experience building in startup environments. This is an ownership-driven role for engineers who want real influence over product and architecture.


About the Role

Design and build end-to-end product features, from system architecture through production
Translate ambiguous customer and business problems into scalable technical solutions
Own the full software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and operation
Design and evolve SQL database schemas supporting core financial workflows
Improve engineering processes, tooling, and systems as the company scales
Help shape a high-bar, execution-focused engineering culture


Ideal Background

Hiring across 4–10+ years of experience. Depth of thinking and ownership matter more than titles.
Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, system design, databases)
Degree from a top computer science program or equivalent demonstrated excellence
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
Hands-on experience with Node.js and Express
Proven ability to architect systems end-to-end
Extensive experience designing and working with SQL databases
Prior experience at early-stage or high-growth startups
Founder, co-founder, or early engineer experience is a strong plus
High ownership mindset with a bias toward execution and impact


Compensation & Benefits
Canada: $240,000–$300,000 CAD + equity
United States: $170,000–$240,000 USD + equity
Fully remote (US or Canada)
