This is not a marketing site. This is a content-heavy, subscription-driven B2C product designed for long-term scale. We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (hands-on technical lead) to help architect and build the foundation of this platform. ⸻ What We’re Building BBQ World Cup is developing a global, structured, subscription-powered ecosystem that includes: Membership + paid tiers Structured entities (Restaurants, Teams, Events, Rankings, Sanctioning Bodies) SEO-indexed programmatic pages at scale User-generated content + moderation systems Stripe subscription + entitlement enforcement Serverless infrastructure designed for scale This is a long-term product platform, not a brochure website. We are looking for someone who can: Own architecture decisions Ship quickly in structured 30-day sprints Protect billing and access control Design scalable data models Build with long-term maintainability in mind Potentially evolve into a Head of Engineering role Technical Stack Frontend React / Next.js (SSR + SEO-focused routing) Component-driven architecture Role-based gated UI Backend Golang (primary language) AWS Lambda (serverless architecture) RESTful API design Middleware-based access enforcement Database DynamoDB (single-table design preferred) Secondary indexes + access pattern modeling Subscription state + entitlement modeling Payments & Integrations Stripe (subscriptions, webhooks, lifecycle events) Idempotent webhook processing Event-driven architecture (SQS / async processing preferred) Infrastructure API Gateway S3 + CloudFront IAM policies CloudWatch monitoring CI/CD pipelines Bonus Experience Elasticsearch / advanced search optimization High-scale SEO architecture UGC moderation systems Marketplace-style entity modeling ⸻ What We’re Looking For We are specifically seeking engineers with real B2C experience, not just feature implementers. You should have: Built or scaled a subscription-based product Designed structured data models Implemented Stripe webhooks in production Built content-heavy platforms with thousands of indexed pages Experience protecting billing and entitlement flows Strong understanding of serverless architecture Equally important: We are looking for a self-sufficient, entrepreneurial technical leader. You should be: Comfortable operating with high autonomy Proactive in identifying risks and proposing structured solutions Able to balance speed with long-term architectural integrity Comfortable challenging assumptions when necessary Capable of taking ownership of outcomes, not just tasks This is not a ticket-execution role. We are looking for someone who thinks like a builder and takes responsibility for the platform. ⸻ Compensation & Structure Contract engagement: $30–$50 per hour, depending on experience Initial focus on clearly defined sprint milestones Strong performance may lead to full-time or long-term technical leadership opportunity Position would be remote Questions to answer: What B2C paid subscription product have you personally built or scaled? (share link + your exact role) Have you implemented Stripe subscriptions + webhooks in production? (yes/no — how did you prevent duplicate/out-of-order webhook issues?) Have you designed a DynamoDB schema yourself? (yes/no — share your PK/SK pattern for users + subscriptions/entitlements) Have you built a content-heavy site with 1,000+ SEO-indexed pages? (yes/no — share link) Can you commit 30–40 hrs/week with overlap during 8am–5pm Pacific and be primary on-call for revenue-impacting issues? (yes/no) How to Apply Please include: • A link to a B2C product you personally helped build • Your exact role on that product • The metrics you owned (revenue, conversion, retention, scale) • A brief description of the most complex architectural decision you made Requirements added by the job poster • 5+ years of work experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
