About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack AI App Engineer to help architect and ship AI-powered product experiences inside our mobile application. This role is for someone with proven experience integrating AI into consumer-facing apps and deep expertise building with Expo + React Native.

We will begin with a defined, paid project to evaluate technical fit, collaboration style, and execution speed. If successful, you will have the opportunity to grow into a longer-term role.

AI is a core part of our product roadmap, and this role will play a key part in shaping how AI is thoughtfully integrated into the user experience.

This is initially a part-time contract role. US-based preferred, remote-friendly.

Core Mobile & Backend Stack (Required):

AI / LLM Experience (Required):

Demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered product experiences into production
Hands-on experience integrating AI services into real applications
Strong understanding of:
Performance, latency, and cost considerations
Data privacy, security, and user trust in AI-driven products

You do not need experience in every tool listed above, but Expo + React Native and production AI experience are required.

💎 Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining the mobile architecture using Expo, ensuring scalable and reliable releases
Build and ship AI-powered product experiences across mobile and backend systems
Lead end-to-end feature development, from technical design through deployment
Collaborate closely with product and design to translate requirements into technical solutions
Evaluate technical tradeoffs and ensure high-quality, maintainable implementations
Maintain engineering standards through code reviews, testing, and documentation
Troubleshoot complex issues across mobile, backend, and AI integrations
Support a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement
📈 Requirements
5+ years of full stack engineering experience
1–2+ years as a Senior Engineer or Tech Lead
Hands-on experience building and shipping mobile apps with Expo
Demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered product experiences in production (required)
Strong expertise in React Native + Expo
Strong experience with TypeScript
Experience designing backend systems that support AI workflows
Startup experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced startup environment
Bonus:

Experience in wellness, fitness, or health-tech
Experience working on highly personalized or data-driven products
