We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to drive the development of Wholechain’s user-facing applications, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for our customers. This role is pivotal to Wholechain’s mission of building more transparent and responsible supply chains through blockchain-based traceability solutions. As a key contributor, the Senior Frontend Engineer will design, develop, and optimize our React-based frontend, working closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in modern web technologies and a passion for building scalable and maintainable frontend systems.

Responsibilities
Lead the development and optimization of Wholechain’s React-based frontend, ensuring high performance and usability.

Work directly with UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into pixel-perfect, responsive interfaces.

Ensure compliance with best practices in frontend development, including accessibility, security, and performance optimization.

Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between frontend and backend services.

Implement and maintain design systems (e.g., Material UI, Ant Design) for consistency across Wholechain’s applications.

Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to maintain high reliability and reduce regression risks.

Work in an Agile development environment, participating in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and best practices to continuously improve Wholechain’s frontend stack.

Requirements
5+ years of experience developing and maintaining frontend applications in a professional setting.

Strong proficiency in React.js and TypeScript, including hooks, state management, and component design patterns.

Experience with frontend performance optimization, ensuring fast load times and smooth interactions.

Familiarity with design frameworks such as Material UI, Ant Design, or custom component libraries.

Experience with API integration, particularly with RESTful services.

Knowledge of frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).

Experience with CI/CD workflows, Git version control, and Agile methodologies.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team.

Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced startup environment.
