Senior Backend Software Engineer (Python & Cloud Modernisation) 

12 month contract - W2



We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (strong Python) to support a critical customer engagement, leading the modernisation of large-scale backend systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on breaking down complex monolithic platforms into scalable, container-based services running on Google Cloud (GCP).


You’ll bring deep expertise in Python (3.11+), strong backend engineering skills, and experience driving cloud migrations, observability improvements and secure distributed systems.


Key responsibilities include:

Modernising legacy backend services into containerised architectures
Leading Python/PHP upgrades and design reviews
Building robust monitoring and metrics pipelines (Prometheus/Grafana)
Supporting logging migrations (Splunk → Cloud solutions)
Mentoring engineers and driving best practices in testing and CI/CD


Start Date: February 2026
