Effodio (Latin): “I dig, excavate, or mine.” Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing, building, and optimizing Effodio’s application analytics platform using Go, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering partners to deliver scalable, high-performance backend systems that operate reliably in modern cloud environments. What You’ll Do ❖ Design & Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of new backend features and platform enhancements. Ensure high standards for code quality, performance, scalability, and maintainability. ❖ Hands-on Coding: Write efficient, well-structured, and well-documented code in Go. Participate across the full software development lifecycle—from architecture and design through testing, deployment, and iteration. ❖ Kubernetes & Cloud Integration: Develop and operate containerized services using Kubernetes. Leverage cloud services to improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency. ❖ Cloud & Network-Aware Architecture: Design backend services with an understanding of cloud networking fundamentals, including service-to-service communication, traffic routing, security boundaries, and scalability within a cloud environment. ❖ Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across services and systems. Apply best practices for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery. ❖ Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with product managers, data scientists, and engineers across teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Lead complex technical initiatives that may span multiple teams. ❖ Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and provide thoughtful, scalable solutions to maintain the stability and efficiency of the platform. What You Bring ❖ Experience: 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development. Proven experience designing and building large-scale, production-grade systems. ❖ Technical Skills: Proficiency in Go, or demonstrated ability to learn new languages quickly. Practical and/or conceptual understanding of Kubernetes. Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform. ❖ Architecture & Design: Strong knowledge of system architecture and design patterns, including microservices and distributed systems deployed in cloud environments, with an understanding of how networking, scalability, and reliability influence system design. ❖ Cloud & Networking Fundamentals: Familiarity with cloud networking concepts such as VPCs, service connectivity, access control, and secure communication between services. ❖ Performance & Reliability: Demonstrated ability to optimize systems for performance, scalability, and reliability. ❖ Team Player: Strong collaboration skills with experience working in distributed, cross-functional teams. Comfortable mentoring others and contributing to technical direction. ❖ Problem Solving: Analytical mindset with a passion for tackling complex technical challenges. ❖ Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications ❖ Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field ❖ Familiarity with additional technologies relevant to analytics or data processing ❖ Cloud or Kubernetes-related certifications Compensation Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, and experience.
