You will contribute to new efforts in service-oriented architectures, leveraging the latest, cutting edge technologies. As a Senior Backend Engineer, your goal is to deliver an exceptional experience to our customers all around the world with quality, performance, and scalability top of mind. Alongside your team, you will leverage latest, modern SaaS and Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies across all layers of the software stack.Inventory Team:As the backbone of Cloudbeds' Central Reservations tribe, the Inventory team owns the logic behind hotel rates and availability—core systems that power everything from group bookings to rate plans to occupancy insights. If you're energized by building mission-critical services in a collaborative, high-trust environment, you'll find your people here.What You Bring to the Team:As a member of the Inventory Team, you will play a key role in evolving Cloudbeds’ core architecture for hotel rates and availabilityHelp shape and lead technical discussions around complex systems and domain logic, working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders as a contributor to the backend architecture groupWrite clean, well-tested, well-documented, and maintainable codeContribute to the ongoing migration of our core platform toward a modern, microservices-based architectureCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deliver scalable, high-quality featuresChampion engineering excellence by promoting best practices in code quality, architecture, and team processesWhat Sets You Up for Success:5+ years of backend software engineering experience using object-oriented principles in PHP2+ years of experience with one or more modern frameworks or ecosystems (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, or similar)A strong business sense and ability to collaborate with leadership and non-technical stakeholders on highly visible projectsExpert knowledge of relational, indexing, and searching technologies, especially MySQLA passion for data-informed development, including metrics, experimentation, and rapid prototypingStrong knowledge and passion for software architecture, design patterns, and testing practicesExperience working with complex data structures and/or inventory cache system is a strong plusBusiness-level English fluency required (verbal and written)Bonus Skills to Stand Out (Optional):Experience designing and building microservices using PHPExperience with gRPC and protobufExperience with cloud-based infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS) Experience working with a remote-first and globally distributed team #LI-LP1What to Expect - Your Journey with Us Behind Cloudbeds' revolutionary technology is a team of redefining what's possible in hospitality.
