About the Role We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to help us evolve our architecture and build the next generation of features for our platform. You’ll join a collaborative and talented backend team, becoming a key contributor to the system our lenders depend on to run their business. This is an opportunity to solve complex challenges in scalability, security, and financial compliance while making a significant impact on our product and our customers. What You’ll Do • Design, develop, and maintain core backend services and APIs for our loan management SaaS platform, primarily using Python and Go • Architect and build scalable, reliable, and secure systems to support new product lines and a growing user base • Collaborate closely with Product and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions • Mentor other engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence by championing best practices in code, testing, and observability • Own features from conception through deployment and maintenance, leveraging CircleCI to build, test, and deploy services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes • Enhance and scale infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance What You’ll Bring • 5+ years of professional backend software development experience, preferably in a SaaS or product-driven environment • Significant professional experience with Python and a proven track record of building complex, maintainable applications • Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems and microservices • Strong experience developing and consuming APIs • Commitment to writing clean, reliable, and well-tested code • Experience thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences Bonus Points • Experience with Go (Golang) • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major cloud providers • Previous experience in FinTech or other highly regulated industries
