MoneyFlap is building the world’s most powerful borderless financial platform — instant payments, global money movement, stablecoin rails, and rewards across Africa, LATAM, the EU, MENA, and Asia.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our high-performance engineering team. You’ll design and build the backend systems that power MoneyFlap’s global payments stack — from mobile money and card payments to bank integrations, stablecoin rails, KYC, fraud, and more.

Responsibilities
Designing and building highly scalable backend services for millions of users.
Architecting APIs and internal systems powering our mobile apps and global platform.
Integrating with banking APIs, mobile money systems, third-party providers, and on-chain infrastructure.
Owning services end-to-end: design → build → deploy → monitor → iterate.
Writing clean, testable, maintainable code with high reliability and performance.
Investigating and resolving production incidents quickly and effectively.
Collaborating with product, design, security, and mobile teams to deliver seamless financial experiences.
Contributing to MoneyFlap’s long-term architecture as we scale across continents.
Qualifications
5+ years of backend engineering experience in high-performance environments.
Strong programming skills in TypeScript (Node.js), Go, Java, or similar backend languages.
Solid experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, caching, and event-driven architectures.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployment.
You write clean, reliable code and care deeply about testing, quality, and performance.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with high autonomy.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus: experience with payments, fintech, mobile money, crypto rails, or stablecoin settlement.
