Sr. Application Specialist (PHP)

Our client is seeking a Senior Application Specialist to join their company for a contract-to-hire position that is remote. The Application Specialist will focus on building and maintaining PHP-based applications and deep integrations with e-commerce, VoIP, and ticketing platforms that power core business workflows.


Location: Remote, Eastern Time Zone business hours
Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $50-60/hr plus benefits
Client does not offer H1B sponsorship 


What You’ll Do: 

Design, develop, test, and maintain mission-critical applications supporting booking, inventory, pricing, and supplier operations
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
Develop scalable, high-availability solutions to support global customers and partners
Review code and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and consistency
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in a customer-facing environment
Lead technical design and architecture discussions for new features and system enhancements
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements
What Gets You the Job: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong proficiency in PHP (Code Igniter/Laravel framework)
Experience building web-based (HMTL/CSS/Javascript) and API-driven applications
Solid understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) experience with data modeling
Experience working with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
Experience with e-commerce and/or reservation systems (Plus)
Experience with Zoho, Ring Central, and/or Clarifysoft (Plus)
Knowledge of security best practices and secure coding standards
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
