Try Premium for PKR0 About the job About This Position nVoq is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (QA Engineer). An individual in this role will be a hands-on, technically advanced role responsible for building confidence in our software through automation, tooling, and deep system understanding. The QA Engineer role goes far beyond executing manual test scripts. It focuses on preventing defects, validating complex integrations, and embedding quality into the development lifecycle. This role works closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, and DevOps to design test strategies, build automated test frameworks, and validate backend systems, APIs, and data flows in production-like environments. About Us Founded in 2000, nVoq offers the energy and excitement of a high growth entrepreneurial environment coupled with seasoned business leadership and mature business practices. nVoq’s leadership team has over 150 collective years of experience in companies like Microsoft, Starbucks, Cerner, Garmin and Netsmart. Company Founder and CEO, Charles Corfield, has a strong track record of entrepreneurial success and is dedicated to building a great place to work. nVoq offers a highly scalable voice recognition platform with automations support that speeds up workflow for improved productivity, efficiency and quality of service. nVoq’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform minimizes time spent at the keyboard by using speech to capture dictation, automate workflow, and improved medical documentation. The Company’s solution is HIPAA compliant, and securely converts speech into text in real-time with the highest level of accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for backend services, APIs, and integrations using scripting and programming languages (Ruby, Python, shell). Develop and maintain test tooling and utilities, including test data generators, validation scripts, and environment health checks. Collaborate with engineers early in the development process to influence testability, architecture, and quality practices. Validate system behavior across edge cases, failure scenarios, and real-world data conditions, not just happy paths. Perform exploratory testing informed by domain knowledge, system architecture, and production behavior, not only predefined test cases. Investigate, diagnose, and clearly document defects with root cause analysis, logs, repro steps, and technical context. Participate in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) to integrate automated tests and quality gates into deployments. Partner with Support and Engineering to debug production issues and validate fixes using scripts, logs, and data analysis. Contribute to quality standards, testing guidelines, and continuous improvement of engineering practices. Other job-related duties and projects as assigned. Required Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of experience working in a technical QA, Quality Engineering, or software engineering role, ideally in systems with APIs and integrations. Preferred Qualifications Healthcare IT experience is a plus but not required for candidates with strong technical fundamentals. Strong programming and scripting experience in Ruby and/or Python, with comfort writing maintainable, production-quality test code. Experience with shell scripting and working in Linux-based environments. Hands-on experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins). Deep understanding of API behavior, data contracts, error handling, and system interactions. Ability to read, understand, and reason about application code to design effective tests. Comfort debugging complex issues using logs, scripts, and system introspection tools. Experience testing APIs programmatically. Familiarity with LLMs or AI-powered systems is a strong plus, including testing non-deterministic or probabilistic behavior. Experience using LLMs to facilitate implementation of test scripts, test cases, and automation is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining technical issues to cross-functional teams. High level of ownership, curiosity, and willingness to improve systems rather than just validate them.
