Lead Web Engineer, Full Stack

Location: 100% REMOTE, but candidates must currently reside in US
Full Time; we are unable to provide sponsorship or work C2C


Role Overview

Lead the technical design and evolution of a market-leading analytics platform's user interface. Work closely with engineering and product leadership to transform product vision into reality, blending technical excellence with product intuition. Start as a hands-on builder establishing architectural standards, then scale the team as the product grows.


Technical Stack

Frontend: React, Material-UI, TypeScript, modern tooling
Backend: Node.js/Express, NoSQL and SQL databases
Infrastructure: Real-time communication, authentication/authorization, complex data visualizations and grids
Challenge: Modernize and scale the stack while maintaining production stability


Requirements:

7+ years building software, 3+ years leading teams on data-intensive or complex web products
Expert-level React skills with deep understanding of modern patterns, hooks, and performance optimization
Advanced TypeScript proficiency with type systems and gradual migration strategies
Full-stack capability with Node.js/Express/Nest.js and RESTful API design
Industry experience in finance, investment banking, and/or trading
Material-UI component library and theming expertise
CSS-in-JS (Styled Components, Emotion)
Complex data visualization with grid libraries (MUI X, Ag-Grid) and charting tools (Echarts)
Modern state management (React Query, server state management)
Database experience: NoSQL, SQL, columnar databases, lakehouse patterns
