This role is hands-on: you’ll write code, set standards, and make sure what we ship is secure, scalable, and maintainable. You’ll work closely with our architect, product/BA team, and QA to get features into production smoothly. What You’ll Do • Lead the design, build, and maintenance of scalable features in the IHS EHR/eSuite platform using React on the front end and C#/.NET APIs with PostgreSQL on the back end. • Translate architectural patterns and guidance from the Enterprise Solutions Architect into clean, testable, production-ready code. • Uphold and improve engineering standards: code reviews, documentation, testing practices, DevOps/Azure pipelines, and secure coding. • Mentor and provide technical guidance to mid-level and junior developers; promote pair programming and knowledge sharing. • Collaborate with Product/BA to clarify requirements, stories, and acceptance criteria; partner with QA to ensure high-quality releases. • Optimize application performance and reliability; contribute to resiliency, observability, and security across services. • Implement and support background jobs (e.g., Hangfire), real-time capabilities (SignalR/Redis), and CI/CD pipelines in Azure. • Contribute to or lead integration efforts with healthcare standards and partner systems (FHIR, HL7, LOINC, SNOMED, Medi-Span, JMS/CIPS), where applicable. • Work with DBAs to ensure performance queries, indexing, and data optimization in PostgreSQL. • Write and maintain clear technical documentation for features, APIs, and deployment practices. Required Qualifications • 8+ years of professional software development experience building production web applications. • 6+ years of hands-on C#/.NET development (preferably .NET Core/modern .NET). • 4–5+ years building React front-end applications with TypeScript/JavaScript. • 4+ years working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) including writing queries, optimization, and schema design. • 3–4+ years working in Azure or another cloud environment, including CI/CD (Azure DevOps preferred) and containers/Docker. • 2–3+ years in a lead/senior capacity (mentoring, code reviews, owning modules/features). • Solid understanding of authentication/authorization and secure coding practices (HIPAA/SOC2-aware environment is a plus). • Ability to work cross-functionally and deliver in a compliance-heavy healthcare setting. Preferred / Nice to Have • Healthcare/EHR or other compliance-heavy SaaS experience; understanding of HIPAA/SOC2 expectations. • Familiarity with healthcare data standards and integrations: FHIR, HL7, LOINC, SNOMED, Medi-Span, JMS, or pharmacy-related systems (CIPS). • Experience with background processing (Hangfire), real-time communications (SignalR), and performance profiling/observability. Compensation / Work Setup • Target range: $115,000 – $130,000 depending on experience and alignment with our stack and healthcare domain. • Work type: Remote (Central/Eastern time zone preferred for team collaboration).
