We are building real-time, adaptive comprehension support that works during learning, not after students fall behind. We’re looking for a Lead AI Engineer to help evolve our working demo into a clean, production-ready MVP, and to play a major role in shaping the full SaaS platform as we scale. This role is ideal for someone who is entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable building from zero. Someone who thrives in startup chaos, moves quickly without sacrificing quality, and wants to help craft something meaningful from the ground up. You’ll work directly with the founder to architect, test, and iterate toward launch. Responsibilities Build and evolve Vrane’s working demo into a fully functional web-based MVP Design and implement both front-end and back-end architecture Integrate AI APIs to power adaptive feedback, comprehension checks, and learning insights Collaborate directly with the founder on product roadmap, technical decisions, and feature rollout Design and manage secure, scalable database infrastructure Handle deployment, cloud infrastructure, and environment setup Continuously test, iterate, and refine the product based on pilot and user feedback Contribute to long-term product vision and technical direction as the platform scales Qualifications Strong experience with full-stack web development (React, Next.js, Node, or Python preferred) Experience integrating APIs and AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) Solid database experience (Firebase, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent) Comfortable designing systems end-to-end without heavy oversight Entrepreneurial mindset: self-driven, adaptable, and motivated to build something real Strong communication skills and reliability: responsive, clear, and collaborative Interest in early-stage startups and long-term product ownership What You'll Get Founding-level role in a growing EdTech startup Meaningful equity-based opportunity aligned with long-term commitment Direct influence over product and technical direction from day one Hands-on experience building a real SaaS platform from the ground up Fully remote flexibility and the opportunity to grow with the company as it scales
