Key Responsibilities
System Design & Engineering:

Design and engineer complex conveyor systems (belt, roller, chain, pallet, etc.), including layout, selection of components (motors, drives, sensors, bearings), and mechanical integration.
Create detailed 2D & 3D CAD drawings, schematics, and assembly models for conveyance systems using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX.
Perform technical calculations for motor sizing, speed, torque, tension, and load capacity to ensure system integrity and performance.
Develop Bill of Materials (BOM), specifications, and technical documentation for procurement and fabrication.
Design and integrate safety systems (e.g., guards, E-stops, light curtains) in compliance with ANSI, OSHA, and other relevant standards (e.g., RIA, ISO 13849).
Automation Integration:

Collaborate with Controls Engineers to define the functional requirements and control philosophy for the automated material handling system.
Specify and integrate sensors (photo-eyes, proximity, encoders), actuators, and other automation components directly onto the conveyance equipment.
Support the programming and commissioning of PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and HMIs as they relate to conveyor operation, tracking, and diagnostics.
Understand and design for system communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.).
Project Execution:

Manage projects from conception through installation, including vendor and supplier coordination.
Provide on-site support during installation, startup, and commissioning phases.
Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Provide training and documentation to clients and maintenance personnel.
