This role sits at the center of our platform- owning user-facing experiences, backend systems, and the integrations that connect web applications to AI services, data platforms, and laboratory environments. You’ll design and ship software used daily by scientists, engineers, and operators, turning complex workflows into intuitive, reliable web-based products. Role: Full-Stack Web Applications Design, build, and maintain end-to-end web applications, owning frontend experiences and backend services from API design through deployment. Modern Frontends Create fast, accessible, and intuitive user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and modern styling frameworks, making complex data and AI-driven functionality easy to use. Backend Services & APIs Develop scalable, well-structured backend systems using Python-based frameworks (e.g., FastAPI), supporting real-time interactions, data access, and workflow orchestration. Platform & Integrations Integrate web applications with AI services, data pipelines, and external systems such as laboratory software and LIMS platforms (including Cellario). Data-Driven Experiences Build features that surface insights from large, messy datasets—transforming scientific and operational data into responsive, interactive web experiences. Performance & Reliability Optimize frontend and backend performance, improve observability, and ensure systems remain responsive and reliable as usage and data volumes grow. Cloud-Native Delivery Deploy and operate web services in the cloud using containerized infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code. Collaborative Product Development Work closely with product, design, scientists, and customers to iterate quickly, validate assumptions, and ship features that solve real problems. Requirements: Full-Stack Experience 4–8 years of professional experience building and shipping full-stack web applications in production environments. Frontend Strength Strong experience with React and TypeScript, along with a solid understanding of component design, state management, performance optimization, and modern CSS frameworks. Backend & API Development Experience building APIs and services using Python (FastAPI preferred), with strong data modeling skills and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. Cloud & DevOps Fundamentals Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools. AI Fluency Comfort using AI-assisted development tools and integrating AI-powered capabilities (e.g., LLM-backed features, intelligent automation) into web applications. Systems Thinking Ability to reason across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers, making thoughtful trade-offs between speed, scalability, and maintainability. Clear Communication Strong collaboration skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to engineers, scientists, and non-technical stakeholders. Ownership Mindset A bias toward action and accountability—someone who can take a feature from idea to production with minimal hand-holding. Flexibility Willingness to spend time on-site with users or customers when needed to deeply understand workflows and validate solutions. Nice to Have Experience integrating web applications with laboratory systems or LIMS platforms such as Cellario. Exposure to AI/ML systems, including LLMs, RAG, or agent-based workflows. Familiarity with data pipelines, orchestration tools, or analytics platforms. Experience with scientific or numerical Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, RDKit). Background in scientific, industrial, or regulated domains. Prior experience in customer-facing or product discovery roles.
