This is a greenfield build on a modern stack, and you’ll touch every part of it. This isn’t a simple CRUD app. You’ll be working on a multi-tenant, HIPAA-compliant healthcare platform with real architectural depth: serverless APIs with connection pooling, adaptive bitrate video streaming through CloudFront and MediaConvert, async job processing, infrastructure defined as code with AWS CDK, and integrations spanning labs, payments, supplements, and CRM. You’ll help ship the features that make this platform real — building systems for curriculum delivery, patient engagement, and progress tracking that will shape how functional medicine is practiced at scale. What You’ll Do: Ship Features Across the Full Stack Build and deliver production-ready features across our React front end, Node.js/TypeScript backend, and PostgreSQL database. Own features end-to-end: from understanding the problem, to implementation, to deployment and monitoring. Work across patient-facing experiences, practitioner tools, coaching dashboards, and admin systems. Work with AWS CDK (TypeScript) to define and evolve infrastructure alongside application code — infrastructure is a first-class part of the codebase, not a separate concern. Build with AI as a Force Multiplier Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) as a daily part of your development workflow. Help establish and refine AI-assisted development practices across the team — prompt engineering, code review of AI output, and knowing when AI accelerates vs. when it doesn’t. Contribute to building internal tools and automations that increase the team’s velocity. Collaborate and Deliver Partner with the Senior Developer on architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical tradeoffs. Work closely with product leadership to translate business requirements into well-scoped technical work. Collaborate with specialized contractors (design, DevOps) to maintain momentum. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring for stable, continuous delivery. Design Systems That Matter Help build systems for curriculum delivery, patient engagement tracking, and progress monitoring. Implement integrations with labs, supplements, CRM, and payment platforms. Ensure HIPAA compliance and secure multi-tenant architecture across everything you build. What We’re Looking For- Must-Have: 4+ years of full stack development with ownership of production applications. You’ve worked on systems with real architectural considerations like async processing, multi-tenancy, third-party integrations, or complex data models. Strong React skills — you can build responsive, accessible, performant front-end experiences. Back-end experience with Node.js/TypeScript and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred). Comfortable with cloud infrastructure — you’ve deployed to AWS (or similar) and aren’t intimidated by infrastructure-as-code, serverless architectures, or working with services like S3, SQS, and CloudFront. Active user of AI development tools — you already use AI to write, review, debug, or test code, and you’re excited to push that further. Shipping mindset — you care about getting features into users’ hands, not just writing elegant code. Startup-ready — resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity, fast-moving, and low-ego. Strong communication — you can work across product, design, and leadership without needing everything spelled out. Nice-to-Have: Experience with AWS services (Lambda, RDS, SQS, EventBridge, Cognito). Prior work with mobile-first or responsive web applications. Familiarity with healthcare, HIPAA, or regulated industries.
