Role Description

We are looking for an experienced software programmer/ developer to join the product development team on an exciting NIH funded medical research project aimed to support patients in opioid recovery. The current role is for an independent contractor, building and documenting development of a provider dashboard to support the existing digital therapeutic mobile app for patients. 



This role is remote-first, on an hourly/ contract basis. Candidates must be US citizens, working in the US, and with the ability to coordinate with other team members working 9 am-5pm CST. No part of this work is eligible for subcontracting.


Salary commensurate with experience. Range $60-80/ hour. See below for timeline and time commitments.


Qualifications:

Experience developing HIPAA compliant systems and PHI management requirements


Mobile Development

· Apache Cordova (hybrid mobile app development)
· iOS and Android platform development (some native plug in development)
· Experience with mobile app deployment to App Store and Google Play
· Fastlane for automated app deployment


Frontend

· HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)
· Svelte framework
· Bootstrap
· some jQuery (legacy)
· WebView architecture


Backend

· Java 8+
· Servlet-based web applications
· Jetty server


Database

· MySQL
· Flyway for database migrations
· SQL query optimization

-Basic business sense/ basic understanding of how the development work fits into the larger business needs, limits, and goals

The currently estimated commitment for this role is:

Onboarding; participate in and support software design documentation, risk analysis, validation, and cybersecurity; Dashboard build and testing; Mobile app updates and software testing; Weekly team meetings


March 2025-March 2027 25 hours/ month*



Software maintenance and updates; Technical support for dashboard and mobile, including support for patients and providers during clinical trials; Weekly team meetings
