Try Premium for PKR0 Show match details Tailor my resume Help me stand out About the job Paid Contract Role Remote | Pacific Time (PT) Zovian is looking for a full-stack web engineer to help lay the initial technical foundation for an early-stage web platform. This role is for someone who can think critically about long-term system design while also implementing features that support day-to-day operations. We’re early in the project and intentionally focused on building a flexible foundation that can be extended in the future. You’ll be the primary engineer responsible for translating high-level goals and architecture design into a working platform that can evolve over time. This is a paid contract role, ideal for someone who enjoys establishing patterns, structure, and systems that allow a small team to operate now while supporting future growth. We're looking for someone who can ideate with us, who can remain flexible and adapt as new information appears, proactively communicate problems before they become blockers, and is not afraid to learn new things. Scope of Work You will be responsible for standing up the initial web presence and application flows from scratch based on an existing architectural direction, while helping refine details as they emerge during implementation. Responsibilities include: Platform Implementation & Structure Implementing the core web platform framework from an established architectural starting point Translating high-level goals and design decisions into working systems Making sound implementation-level decisions within agreed constraints Identifying risks, edge cases, or improvement opportunities as they arise and communicating them clearly Helping refine architecture designs where real-world usage or implementation details justify change Establishing clear, understandable patterns for: Data modeling API boundaries Authentication and access control Environment setup, hookup, and deployment Web Application Development Building core application flows that support day-to-day platform operation Developing internal or admin-facing tooling used to: Create and manage platform content Operate events or workflows manually Review, update, and publish results Implementing public-facing pages designed for clarity, performance, and discoverability Integrating frontend and backend systems in a predictable, maintainable way Foundation & Handoff Writing simple documentation around system structure, assumptions, and tradeoffs for onboarding future collaborators Creating a codebase that is approachable and extensible Helping ensure the platform can scale in scope over time without requiring complete rewrites Requirements Experience building full-stack web applications Ability to implement systems end-to-end as a primary or sole engineer Comfort working from high-level goals and architectural direction rather than detailed specifications Experience building and deploying backend services in cloud-native or serverless production environments Experience designing data models for production web applications Experience building user-facing web application interfaces that integrate cleanly with backend APIs Comfort implementing routing, data fetching, and state management in modern web applications Strong written and verbal communication Available for regular check-ins during Pacific Time (PT) working hours Fluent written and spoken English Nice to Have Familiarity with AWS services Experience building early-stage platforms or internal tools Experience building dynamic dashboards, marketplaces, or community-driven products Interest in games, game communities, and creator platforms Additional Information AI-generated portfolios or code samples should be disclosed in order to be considered.
