As energy demand surges and distributed energy resources (DERs) like solar, batteries, EV chargers, and natural gas generators become widespread, the grid is more resilient—but also more complex and vulnerable to cyber threats. An opportunity to be involved building the first fully decentralized, zero-trust cybersecurity platform to ensure every connection within the grid is secure, resilient, and verifiable. Role Overview: We’re seeking a Founding Engineer to shape the architecture, development, and maintenance of software solutions for DERs. This is a hands-on role with direct influence over product development. Responsibilities include: Designing and developing scalable software from zero-to-one Engaging with customers to gather requirements and feedback Iterating rapidly on features using Rust (or C/C++ for embedded/distributed systems) Working on network communications protocols (QUIC, TCP/IP, UDP) Contributing to product strategy and technical direction Qualifications: BS (MS/PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or related field 5+ years of software engineering experience (cybersecurity or energy experience preferred) Proficiency in Rust (preferred) or C/C++ Experience with embedded systems and distributed software Comfort with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and high-impact problem-solving US citizenship required This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of energy and cybersecurity, building critical infrastructure technology from the ground up.
