Our platform focuses on agentic systems, document intelligence, and workflow orchestration that enable supply-chain participants to operate efficiently without traditional enterprise overhead. Enterprise-proven founding team, seed-stage fundraising in progress. The Role We’re looking for a Founding Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Tech Lead to help build the core AI-native platform. This role spans frontend, backend, agentic workflows, and cloud infrastructure, with strong hands-on execution and technical leadership. You’ll collaborate closely with the founding team on architectural decisions and system evolution. What You’ll Do Develop modern front-end experiences using React, TypeScript, and modern UI frameworks (e.g., Tailwind or similar) Build backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, Python, and FastAPI Design and operate RESTful APIs and service-oriented backend systems Design and implement real-time and asynchronous systems, including: WebSockets or real-time updates Event-driven workflows Background jobs and task queues Build document ingestion and processing pipelines, including file handling, PDF parsing, and structured data normalization Design integration architectures using webhooks, third-party APIs, and external system synchronization Implement agentic AI workflows, including: Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Vector-based retrieval using PostgreSQL with pgvector or similar Multi-agent orchestration, tool-calling, and workflow routing Work with agentic and LLM tooling such as LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, or similar frameworks (tools are illustrative, not prescriptive) Integrate frontier models and cloud LLM services (OpenAI or equivalent providers) Build multi-tenant SaaS architectures with strong data isolation and tenant awareness Partner with the founding team on architectural evolution, scalability decisions, and build-vs-buy trade-offs Requirements A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience Strong frontend engineering experience using React.js,Typescript Strong experience building LLM powered features (OpenAI, Anthropic APIs) and agents on Production Strong backend engineering experience using Python and Node.js Experience designing and operating RESTful APIs Experience working with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases Hands-on experience with real-time systems, event streaming, and job/queue-based processing Experience building document processing pipelines (PDFs, uploads, extraction, normalization) Experience designing integration-heavy systems (webhooks, third-party APIs) Experience building multi-tenant SaaS architecture Comfort operating as a AI fluent founding senior engineer / tech lead in an early-stage startup environment Bonus (Nice to Have) Experience with Celery, Redis, or similar async/background processing systems Experience with OCR or document extraction systems Experience integrating with B2B platforms, such as: Accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks, or similar) Email or communication systems Deeper experience with agentic systems, RAG pipelines, or LLM observability/evaluation Experience deploying and operating systems on AWS, with containerization (Docker or similar) and running CI/CD pipeline on Github Tech Stack Frontend: React, TypeScript, Tailwind (or similar) Backend: Node.js, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI AI / Agents: OpenAI, LangChain/LangGraph/LangSmith-style tooling, RAG Data: PostgreSQL, pgvector, MongoDB (where appropriate) Infra: AWS, Docker, CI/CD Integrations: Accounting systems, third-party APIs, webhooks Compensation & Structure Competitive contract rate Equity upon full-time conversion Fully remote as contract (Hybrid potential upon FT) Strong path to full-time conversion within 3–6 months How to Apply Apply via LinkedIn Direct or email careers@whimbli.com Include: Role name in subject line Resume and/or LinkedIn profile Brief note on relevant experience and interest Rolling applications.
