FOUNDING ENGINEER – AI SECURITY 



KEY BULLET POINTS

Salary: $150,000 – $250,000 + 0.10% – 0.50% equity

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Due to rapid growth, we’re supporting an early-stage cybersecurity business building an AI-powered platform that detects, verifies, and fixes vulnerabilities across large codebases. This is a chance to join as an early engineering hire, working directly with technical founders on a product with clear market pull and enterprise demand.

THE FOUNDING ENGINEER ROLE:

As a Founding Engineer, you’ll help design and improve an autonomous scanner that finds and patches vulnerabilities across massive codebases. You’ll focus on shipping creative, high-quality improvements quickly, while keeping technical debt under control. You’ll work across product and platform, helping customers triage and manage security findings at scale, and scaling infrastructure to support high volumes of PR scans and full scans each month.


FOUNDING ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Strong software engineering fundamentals (architecture, data, scaling, systems thinking)
End-to-end delivery experience on complex backend or full-stack products
Strong TypeScript and/or Python experience (and willingness to work across both)
Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Ability to understand and reason about security concepts, even without a dedicated security background
Comfortable working in a small team where pace, accountability, and quality all matter


DESIRABLE (NOT ESSENTIAL)

Application security, bug bounty, CTF, CVEs, or SAST/static analysis exposure
Early-stage startup experience or founder background (YC a plus)
Evidence of high achievement (strong internships, competitions, standout projects, open source)
