Las Casas acquires profitable, mission-critical software companies and uses AI to accelerate growth, expand TAM, and modernize operations at our portfolio companies. To execute this strategy, we are hiring our first technical leader at the holding company level.



The Role

The Founding Engineer will architect and lead AI-driven product and technical transformation across our portfolio. This is not a traditional engineering role inside a single company — you will operate across multiple profitable SaaS businesses and work directly with the founders to create measurable growth impact.



What You’ll Do

Partner directly with founders on investment decisions and AI strategy.
Lead technical diligence pre-acquisition.
Define post-close AI product roadmaps.
Design and ship AI-native products that expand customer ACVs.
Build reusable internal AI tooling across portfolio companies.
Recruit and mentor engineering leaders within portfolio companies.


What We’re Looking For

5–10+ years of SaaS engineering experience.
Has shipped AI-enabled products into production.
Deep understanding of modern AI coding workflows and tooling.
Thinks like a product owner — commercially minded, not just technical.
Strong communicator across founders, operators, and investors.


Why This Role Is Unique

You will work across multiple companies, shape how AI is deployed in real enterprise environments, and help build a generational holding company. This role is closer to a technical co-founder than a traditional engineer.



Compensation & Location

Competitive cash compensation plus meaningful long-term equity participation at the holding company level. Ideally based in Los Angeles or San Francisco.
